The addressee, André Berthe d’Annelet, 21 Rue d’Aumale, Paris, is cited as being nominated for membership in the Société Française d’Archéologie by Eugène et Germain Lefèvre-Pontalis. Lefèvre-Pontalis was appointed president of the Société in 1911. Letter was likely written by Berthe d’Annelet; presumably some relation to André. Berthe d’Annelet was a member of the Bourg de Bozas 1901-1903 expedition through central Africa. The expedition was in Addis Ababa from 28 December 1901 to 4 March 1902. Bourg met with Alfred Ilg on 29 December 1901.
