External mail sent from Adis Abeba to Paris, France. The firm of Arthur Maury was a world famous stamp dealer, and it still exists.
21 December 1908 Adis Abeba (Payne AA1) cancel. 14 January 1909 paquebot transit cancel. 26 January 1909 Paris receiving cancel.

griffe de chargement documents the letter weight as 61.5 grams and that there is 1 red was seal bearing the initials SA.
8.5 Piastres under pays by 3.5P the expected 12P rate: 7P (2P first weight unit + 5P for the next five weight units) + 2P registration fee + 3P Value declared fee for up to 300 Francs.
A hand written note on the left hand side of the back of the cover states:
Aff[ranchie] p[ar] exp[éditeur] 4? refus regularisez, meaning the sender corrected the franking amount by 4P.
The comment explains why there was no postage due applied to the letter.
Transit time was 36 days.
