Travel time was 31 days. 4 Guerche Ethiopian + 30 Centimes Obock pays the expected rate: 4G = 2 weight units at 2G each unit + 2 weight units at 15 Centimes each unit. The addressee, André Berthe d’Annelet, 21 Rue d’Aumale, Paris, is cited as being nominated for membership in the Société Française d’Archéologie by Eugène et Germain Lefèvre-Pontalis. Lefèvre-Pontalis was appointed president of the Société in 1911. Letter was likely written by Berthe d’Annelet; presumably some relation to André. Berthe d’Annelet was a member of the Bourg de Bozas 1901-1903 expedition through central Africa. The expedition was in Addis Ababa from 28 December 1901 to 4 March 1902.
